The Course

The Lake Macbride Fat Tire Classic is a Fat Bike Event like no other.  Presented by Sugar Bottom Bikes and The Solon Centennial Lions Club, the Race will take you around scenic Lake Macbride on twisty pea gravel, flowing singletrack, scenic beaches, blazing fast double track, hilly and steep snowmobile trails, challenging hiking trails, and scenic gravel roads.  Many of the trails in the event are not permitted for bikes EXCEPT on race day, so this is your only chance to ride them!  The fast end of the 30 mile course typically finishes in around 2 hours with the back end of the race taking as long as 5 to 6 hours.

Course Markings

&  Navigation:

We will be marking both the ride and race course with big arrows and course tape but GPS Computer Navigation is absolutely recommended.  For 2025 we will attempt to mark the course even better than previous years, but we cannot be held responsible for people who choose not to use GPS Navigation.  Markings can get knocked down by riders and wind or stolen and switched by mischievous individuals.

COURSE FILES WILL BE AVAILABLE 1 WEEK BEFORE RACE DAY!

Postponment/ Rescheduling

In order to present the safest and most fun event possible, we will reserve the right to move the start of the race forward or back 1 hour in order to achieve more favorable conditions.  In addition to this we will reserve the right to postpone the race to Sunday the 9th.  We also have the potential to present a modified course in order to hold the event on trails that are not affected as much by adverse weather/temperature conditions.  *Unfortunately in the event of total cancellation of the event we will not be able to offer refunds.  Please choose registration protection from BikeReg when signing up if you are concerned about cancellation.

Race and Ride for a Cause!  All event proceeds will be used for charitable causes by the Solon Centennial Lion's Club.
